YARROW’S Latin name is Achillea millefolium, named after the Greek hero Achilles.

It was said that Achilles used this magical herb to help heal his soldiers’ wounds from bleeding.

Yarrow also has the nickname 'Soldier's woundwort', it was often found growing in battlefields and therefore became a trusted ally to soldiers to help cleanse and staunch bleeding wounds.

Yarrow has strong astringent and hemostatic properties and contains anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and styptic properties as well as astringent tannins and resins that help aid skin repair.

It is excellent for helping to treat poison plant rashes, contact dermatitis, blemishes, cuts, scrapes, insect bites and stings.

Additional ingredients ~

- SHEA BUTTER: The high concentrations of fatty acids and vitamins make Shea butter an ideal cosmetic ingredient for softening skin. Shea butter also has anti-inflammatory and healing properties. Shea butter can condition, tone, and soothe your skin. It's deeply nourishing as the vitamins and phytonutrients it contains are deeply absorbed into the skin, healing wounds from the inside out.

 - COCOA BUTTER:

Cocoa butter makes an excellent skin moisturizer and it does more than just hydrate the skin. It melts around body temperature so it’s a good skin moisturizer, and since it’s also edible, it’s not dangerous to use as a lip balm as well. Cocoa butter contains a high antioxidant level that protects skin from damage and reduces inflammation. It promotes the healing process and soothes, hydrates, and softens scar tissue and is one of the best natural ingredients to improve stretch marks. It can help the skin to renew its cells.

- BEESWAX has anti-inflammatory properties and encourages the healing of wounds. It is also protective, helping form a barrier between the skin and the environment without clogging pores.

Furthermore, beeswax is high in vitamin A, which has been found to support cell reconstruction and health.

The protective nature of beeswax helps hold in moisture and reduce the dryness of the skin. It is also a humectant, which means that it attracts water. This helps keep the skin hydrated and soft and the hypoallergenic and moisturising properties of beeswax make it an effective treatment for dry skin and more serious issues like eczema.

Beeswax can be used to treat the itchiness of these conditions and prevent further drying out.
